Do you know what these are? These are airsoft gun BBs. I heard a ton of rattling when I was pulling clothes out of the washer and putting them in the dryer. I used to find these all over the house and in the laundry when HF was playing airsoft regularly. He says that he's been instructed to play airsoft whenever he gets the chance because it's good training. I still don't believe him. I think he just wants to find a way to play airsoft all the time. I know that many police departments do use airsoft guns for training. In fact, HF was the one that sold his department's SWAT team their airsoft guns, back when he was a (airsoft) dealer. For some reason, I can't stand airsoft, but we all have our hobbies and passions, right?
Finding these in the dryer made me wonder just like I did when I found a bullet, if these could go off in the dryer. According to mythbusters, anything could happen. Dori said that they made a water heater blow up. The very thing I'm afraid of happening.

LMAO...I have found bullets before. I have also found the tablet he left in his pocket. My hubby is in the academy. Never heard of airsoft, but I'm going to have to ask if they use it.
I just found your blog and love it! Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Great pic!
I actually found a bullet in my back pack right before going into the airport! It's a backpack I use for work. I had cleaned it out (I thought) to use it to travel. Luckily, I found it before leaving the in-laws car! That would have been fun trying to explain. I had my dept. ID, but still!
When I first saw the thumbnail pic I thought it was going to be a pearl necklace!
maybe you can submit the suggestion to myth busters.
I only find gloves and every so often handcuff keys.
I can't stand airsoft pellets! My hubby had a bunch of yellow ones that took FOREVER to clean when we had our apartment with shag carpet (yeah, WAY fun).
Aren't these just made of rubber or plastic? That's pretty safe, right? At least, compared to the real stuff...scary about that water heater incident!
Air soft rounds don't go "off", because there is no primer in them. They are simple a plastic projectile.
However, I recently went "off" when my wife washed my cell phone on delicate. Until, that is, I realized it was my own fault for leaving it in my 5.11's pocket.
Interesting, never heard of airsoft. We have been very lucky. Worst I've found is an old paper written report, left in one of The Mr.'s uniform pockets. It was a pain b/c it shredded and littered the whole load. I had to dry it twice just to get most of the itsy-bitsy pices of papers out of the clothing fabrics. The rest was left to sir lint brush. Of course I let The Mr. handle that part - lol.
As always, thanks for sharing.
That's a great photo!
LOL, I remember when I found my first bullet in the dryer. I flipped out!
Now, I would rather find a bullet than 2 crayons (blue and red). Needless to say, the bullets dont ruin a whole load of jeans......
LOL its funny the suprises we find! Tell the hubby next time leave something that you can use oh wait you can use these to throwat him from across the room to get his attention lol
We haven't had any interesting dryer stories lately..."someone" has been really good about cleaning out his pockets. Though he did have to stop the wash the other day to salvage his id card...always a fun thing--pausing a front loader washer.
Mythbusters made a bullet explode in the dryer as well--don't forget that! No harm done...unless you have a gas dryer, then it's the same ending as the gas hot water heater...new house!
Dori- you have got to stop telling me these things!!!! :)
