Vancouver covers Police Car in Post-It "Thank Yous"

How could I pass up mentioning something positive and police related? Well, something positive following the unfortunate riots that took place last week after the Stanley cup. This is taken from the downtown Vancouver Facebook page seen here. I prefer this image to the police cars that were lit on fire.
It all began when the VPD parked their car on Granville to help with the Clean up effort. When they returned, the car was covered in post it notes... The officers received a round of applause and cheers.
I wish that the good in the world got as much media attention as the bad. . .

That's so awesome. Looks like some people took sharpies right to the car as well.

Yeah, wouldn't that be vandalism? :) Maybe it was dry erase markers...

Wow wish it was like this in America. I bet 5ohHubby would gladly take the thank you vandalism as opposed to the words he actually gets nowadays

That is AWESOME! So glad to see something positive instead of all the negative media police get in the States.

such a shame that the news didn't see fit to post this pic. good to see that there is still a portion of society that values our spouses hard work.

The news did cover this aspect of the story briefly. The officer seemed to choke up a little on returning to his car, said he was wondering if he was gonna find the doors torn off his car and instead found all the sticky notes. Very nice Vancouver!

I worked the night of the riot, went home for a couple hours of sleep and went back in for my regular shift early the following morning. One of the other dog handlers told me to go check out the police car at the corner of Granville St and W.Georgia.

It took me two passes through the block to find the car as the throng of people around it was so thick. Seeing the thank you post-its stuck all over the car was one of the coolest things I've ever witnesses, and there was a line of people waiting as others bent over the hood/trunk to scribe their own note.
