Fuzz Funnies: Cub Scouts tour the local PD

My son is in cub scouts. Recently he went with his little pack to do a police station visit. Just so happens that HF got to give them the grand tour. I got to tag along. It was a blast. They got to be policemen for the day. They learned how to pay attention to details They made fingerprints, and they got to assist in processing "evidence", by dusting for fingerprints. It was very exciting as you could imagine.

I kept note of the hilarious things my son and his friends were saying. Enjoy.

When HF said, "Now we are going to go the forensics room", Luke said, "Frederick's room? Who is Frederick?" HF surpressing a smile, "FORENSICS".

Luke's friend pointing to HF's pepper spray, "Is that your invisibility spray?"

Luke, asking if the evidence they were going to fingerprint was from a real-live case (it wasn't but they were told yes) said, "That gives me the Heebie Jeebies!"

They were showed a soft interview room and a hard interview room and HF asked the boys if they know what happens in here (the hard interview room) and Luke said, "Yes, I do!" and he leaned over the table and slammed both fists down and screamed, "I'm going to break you!"

On the way past the break room, one of the boys spotted a large open bag of Cheetos, and before we knew what was happening, each boy had a fistful of bright orange Cheetos. A pit stop at the bathrooms to wash hands was necessary before continuing our tour.

They visited the dispatch center and one of the dispatchers was able to talk to them about what they do in there. Luke raised his hand and asked her what her name was. When she told him, he said, "That's good to know because I will be talking to you REAL soon". Awkward silence ensued as we were all wondering why he would be talking to her "REAL" soon.

Finally, when HF asked each of them what they wanted to be when they grew up, one of the boys said, "An undercover cop". He then went on to explain how he watches NCIS with his mom all the time and started describing a horrific episode in great graphic detail. As mouths began to drop open, I said, "Cover your ears boys".

Note to self:
1.  Have more grownups accompany cub scout troop to the police station.
2.  Don't let your kids watch NCIS until they are an appropriate age.
3.  Make sure the break room is either closed or all food is put away.
4.  Next time do digital fingerprinting and not the old school ink. That stuff makes a mess and it doesn't wash all the way off.
5.  More grownups needed to help with hand washing station.
