Mmmm... DONUTS

Yes, my first post in over a year is about donuts. I just thought it was important to note that on July 14, Krispy Kreme is selling a dozen donuts for only $0.80 cents! And it is any variety. So I know where we're going on Friday. Here is a link to the yahoo article that caught my eye. Mark Your Calendar!

I don't know if anyone still reads this, but what a couple of years we have had. We bought our first house. It is NOT in the same city HF works in, which is where we were living previously. To be honest, it is awesome not living in the same city anymore. Or the ghetto. Or in a townhouse without a yard.

We are on summer break, but all our kids are in school full time. Our 14 year old, Daisy, is starting high school next month. What?! Beau is 11 and going into 6th, and Luke actually skipped a grade last year and is going into 4th grade. He is 8. He was just born when I started this ole blog. So our family is growing up, we've been through a lot the last couple of years, but we are good. We are solid. We thought our family would even expand some more, but I had surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. and that ship has seemed to sail. I started working full time, because, hello, police family, and we have settled into a sort of happy routine.

HF has finished his first stint in investigations, and has recently been rotated back into patrol. This is normal for his agency. Detectives isn't a rank or permanent assignment. So we went from enjoying essentially a 9-5 schedule, with holidays and weekends off. <insert maniacal laughter> As you know, that was not the case!!! And now he is doing swings. Whatever.

So the main reason for all the radio silence? Mostly, I've been really focused on my family as it should be, but seriously? All of the CRAP the last couple of years with police has been frustrating. When I started this blog, there wasn't a lot of police stuff out there for me to read, or to go to for support, etc. Now? There is a TON. Not only have so many started blogging, there are facebook groups for police wives, cop youtubers, facebook pages, authors, and more! I turned to my state's police wife group and got involved with them and the happenings within our own state and helping to support the events and needs of the police families more locally. It has been greatly rewarding to have that resource. However, my need to journal my own feelings and experiences is coming back to me.

So if you're still out there...Hi.
