This is the reason I don't get any sleep:
I know this has the potential to spark major parental debate with attachment parenting advocates, but whether you are for or against it, our 2 older children were sleep-trained, and it was awesome. By the time they were 6 weeks old they were sleeping through the night. But this little guy is another story. Not only am I answering every little cry, I am also co-sleeping, which is something I swore I would never do. I know why I'm doing it too. He has replaced HF. He is now my little buddy. I'm super lonely at night, and when I hear a little cry coming from upstairs, who am I kidding? I'm going to go and get him and hold him because I am desperate for company. When HF is home the two nights that he is, he says, "I can't share the bed with you guys anymore". But since Beau is my best friend now, what's a girl supposed to do? Yeah. It's a major dilemma. I told him that when he's done with the academy that I will let Beau sleep in his own bed. But right now we need each other.
Oh, and I'm majorly insulted! HF said this morning that he thinks that Beau looks like Horatio from CSI Miami. Have you seen this guy act? For some reason, he really, really irritates me. I think I've only seen the show a couple of times, but does it seem odd to anyone else that the Crime Scene Investigators also have the authority to not only investigate crime scenes, but do security sweeps, serve warrants, carry guns, arrest people, etc. etc.? Anyway, it just bugs me. And he's so cheesy! Do you know anyone that acts that way? Facing a different direction when talking to you with their head cocked towards you? And have you noticed that the crime scene investigators are also dressed to the nines? I guess it's just another Cop fantasy show. Maybe it really is realistic!? But who am I to pass any judgment? I grew up watching all the cheesy, yet awesome, 70s and 80s cop shows. And I'm guessing that HF just said it because he knew it would get a reaction. What do you think? Is he a mini Horatio?

I am laughing at this post......... My ex hubby was lonely too, when i worked midnights. I warned him our daughter, would have separation anxiety, she would not know her boundaries, but every morning, she was camped out in our bedroom.......... LOL........... I got use to it..............She didn't when I finally got the day shift!!! She had to go back to a normal routine.......... Enjoy while you can, as I know my daughter did, mom was out fighting the bad guys, and dad was home holding down the fort............ It is a weird schedule, that not only spouses have to get use to but so do out children............
He is gorgeous and looks NOTHING like the CSI guy!!!!!
hugs
Ha! No way, not even close. My son became my Little Buddy that I refer to him as in my blog. He was born weeks after my hubby graduated from the police academy. I completely understand. Though he has slept in his own bed, we are pals and have done just about everything together over the last 2 years. I don't know that I could sleep with a baby in the bed but I think the whole concept is very nice for when they are really small. My LB was on bilirubin blankets right when he was born and happily slept alone in his crib from the start. Still don't see the similarities to this Horatio. I see someone in his face, but not him.
Ha, I don't see the Horatio thing either.
With CSI, in some departments Crime Scene Investigators are sworn and do many of the things that you describe. They work in conjunction with other investigators. In contrast to the show's actors, they wear utility uniforms and, for the most part, are nowhere near as model-like in appearance.
Maybe the boy from Wonder Years? How about Valente Rodriguez? Whoever he resembles, he is a little doll!
No, they do not look alike. And I would agree that I am NOT a fan of what's his name. He is very annoying.
And you cuddle with your boy!!!
Aw! What a cutie! And,yeah, no comparison. I so rarely watch any channel other than PBS that I have no opinion on the guy's acting...
I co-slept with both of my babies. And I believe we are all better adjusted for it. They're only babies for such a short time!
My little princess was born just a few months after my man grauated from the academy, so she slept in the bassinet next to my bed or IN my bed (depending on the shift) and I can relate to the lonely, my buddy is my baby feel as well. Sometimes it's hard giving my man parental responsibilities again because I have such a routine with my babies (3 and 1) and usually when he sees them, he throws all routine out the window and just wants to snuggle with them. Cute, but not when I'M the one waking up in the middle of night with sad babies because the routine's thrown!
As for the resemblance. I just want to gobble up your handsome man, and he looks absolutely NOTHING like the CSI cheeseball. What a numpty.
As for the co sleeping thing, with the boy (now 4) we avoided it and it was awesome. We never had to pull him kicking and screaming form our bedroom. Baby girl to be born soon and apparently its all different with daddy's little girl so we will see.
As for the worst actor to be employed on tv, he sucks. The writers suck and anyone responsible for keeping him employed sucks.
THANK YOU f/p for just coming out and saying it! I thought I might be the only one taking crazy pills thinking that this guy was the worst thing to hit tv in history.
Congrats on the upcoming baby girl!
