boys are made of snakes and snails and "rat" tails. . .

Other things we've been up to? Grooming and growing out Luke's rat tail. I wanted to grow it out long enough to braid it, but finally had enough one day. It started out as a joke. I took Luke over to a friend's house for a haircut and she asked me sarcastically if I wanted her to leave a rat tail and I said, "definitely". I knew HF wouldn't be thrilled, and well, that's why I do these sort of things. I gotta get my kicks somehow, even at the expense of my own children, you know? I was right, he wasn't thrilled and wanted me to cut it off immediately, but I said we couldn't cut it until we at least took a picture. Well, we didn't get around to taking a picture for quite some time. I suspected we were that family at the park that parents wanted to keep their kids away because we all know about kids with rat tails, right? They are probably going to be the kid that pushes you off the slide, throws rocks at you, and punches you in the gut. You know you've pre-judged kids with rat tails. And besides, rat tails are not in style anymore. They haven't been for awhile.

Ha--very true insight that most folks have: stay away from the kids with rat tails or other odd haircuts.

The Mrs. is in love with the youngest boy's curly hair and only trims the front. He now has big rock star hair at almost 3 years old--the other kids at the playground seem to steer clear of him. It is a good thing that he does not care.

He can play with my daughter--the Girl With The Mullet. They could be "trashy haircut" playmates!

Ha! Oh God! I had one in junior high. Yep a girl in the 80's with a tail. Brother. Then I had my sleeveless Chinese shirt and the black bangles up my arm and followed the break dancers around. Think you are right, now I think of hillbillies in the south or a kid whose family are carnies or something. Ha! Glad you cut it, think parents would judge more harshly than other kids. Is his name Duke? JK! Or JP? lol

Almost forgot, my biggest petpeeve is the "rock star" parents that dress their kids in skulls and crossbones and concert type t-shirts, etc.

My niece went to school with a boy with REALLY long hair whose name was BRAM? Parents are big Bram Stoker Fans. Very odd. All the kids stood clear of little BRAM :( Poor thing. BUT they donated his hair to Locks of Love which was really nice when it was cut.

Slamdunk-It's hard to cut off the curls! My sis-in-law didn't cut her little guy's hair until he was almost 2 and he looked exactly like Frodo on Lord of the Rings. He has big blue eyes and his hair was beautiful. Long, brown, curls. JUST like Frodo.

Dori- Ha! I love it. "trashy haircut" playmates.

Val-hahaha! You had one? I can picture it. I always had the mushroom haircut. Or the Dorothy Hamil. My mom loved her and I think most people did because everyone had the mushroom haircut. I have school pictures of me with my mushroom do and Hawaiian button up shirts.

Don't even get me started on names of kids in my daughter's class. Try Gorgeous and Xythlaly (pronounced Zith Lolly). These are not my kids' real names on my blog by the way. But I promise you that they aren't Gorgeous and Xythlaly.
