OMG Steven Seagal is a Cop

HF came home the other day and was SO excited. He said that Steven Seagal is a real cop and has been for the last 20 years.

I have always hated Steven Seagal movies and the like. The like being Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stalone, Charles Bronson, etc. It's so cheesy! I hope I am not offending anyone as I know most guys love this crap. I have 4 older brothers. I admit, it's fun to watch them with HF and laugh at the one liners and some of the fight scenes or a good evil eye stare down, but it really is lame. I guess that's why everyone loves it. But now that HF has seen the first episode of Lawman, he thinks he needs to watch all the Steven Seagal movies now because they are "real". He's kidding. Kind of. Anyway, I watched the first half, and I was rolling my eyes. But I can't hate him now because he's part of the brotherhood, right? I'm sure he's a nice guy. After all, he's a zen master. But what's with the face expressions? I thought it was just for his movies, but no. He always has that scowl on his face. HF just told me I better be careful what I say about Steven because he could be watching. He could be an active reader/commenter on my blog. Which one of you is Steven Seagal? HF thinks that Meadowlark is just an alias for Steven Seagal. Hmmm. Now I'm not so sure myself. I mean, look at her latest post.

You can watch the first episode of Lawman here.

Steven if you are reading this, we really do love you. Stay safe out there.

What? I'm so confused...this is for real, for real? And here I thought he'd finally accepted the fact that he could NOT act.

*snort* ML as Seagal?! Zen Master wannabe vs. Bad Ass Woman Marine...he'd be crying.

I am still waiting for Shaq to get his badge back.

We watched it the other night. I kept wondering how many times he was going to tell us he was a practicer of the martial arts and zen this and that :) But like you said... if he's one of the 'brothers' then good for him!

Dropping temperatures, knitting and Lindy dancing? And that makes me SS? Nah, I think HF dislikes me for totally other reasons.

Confusion aside, I can't imagine any department having him. Talk about a lawsuit risk. People would just be WAITING for any excuse to sue the city. We actually had an officer win a fairly large sum in the lottery and he was "encouraged" to retire.

(and glad to see Dori has my back. I expect nothing less!)

Meadowlark- he was just being sarcastic. Sorry if that confused or offended you. It was meant to be funny. We love you!

Of course I was confused. I've never claimed to be a "bad ass", just a Marine. If one TAKES that as being a bad ass, then our reputation precedes us. :)

Not offended, just confused. I'm a peaceable sort.

When I first saw the promo, I was pissed, thinking that SS needed exposure, so went and got on somewhere as a Dep, just for a reality show. I was pleasantly surprised when I watched the show, and he has actually been there for 20 years. He is the Reserve chief, which if you think about it is pretty cool!

I'm pretty sure this post was meant to be comedic. Comedic in the sense that of course none of you are me posing as a police wife.

The notion that I would be spending all of my time posing as: One) a member of the opposite sex, and two) the wife of an actual cop who has a blog about being a police wife is obviously absurd and, frankly, quite funny.

The fact that Mrs. Fuzz mentioned one of her readers by name and jokingly accused her of being this fictional version of me, Steven Seagal, is most likely indicative of Mrs. Fuzz's affection for that reader. In fact Mrs. Fuzz could have used any one of her readers' names and it would have worked equally as well. This post struck me as a good natured form of teasing within the ranks of the police wife culture.

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that I, Steven Seagal, thought this was really great. I do recognize that most of my films are pretty ridiculous, except for the fight scenes that I choreographed. Those are freakin amazing and totally real world.

I'm glad you really enjoyed the premier of my new show, Lawman (on A&E). This season promises to be really amazing. I hope you and your readers continue to watch my show.

Be Safe and follow the way of harmony

SS

And the only reason I'd take it as an insult Mr. Seagal is that I happen to think you're an asshat and exactly the type of persona that makes cops look bad. I'm voting you take lessons from Shaq. :)

Harmoniously yours...

Well, I'm just laughing aloud at all this. Thanks for always making blogland an enjoyable place to be, Mrs. Fuzz!

Now I need to watch the first episode and see what all the hullabaloo is about!
