time for another round of name that cop trivia (part V)

We haven't played Name That Cop for a while. How much do you know about these tv/movie cops? Do you know the actor(s), the names of the characters they played, the name of the tv show or movie?

See here for previous Name that Cop posts. Answers to NTC IV are as follows:

  1. Peter Falk as Det. Columbo on the tv show Columbo

  2. Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett in Hawaii Five-O

  3. Law & Order: Senior detective Lennie Briscoe played by Jerry Orbach. In the corner of the picture is Benjamin Bratt who played Det. Reynaldo "Rey" Curtis.

  4. Chief Clancy Wiggum from the Simpsons. His voice is done by Hank Azaria.

  5. Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Mike Lowery (Will Smith) in Bad Boys (1995). I think the girl in the picture is Tea Leoni.

guess the cop game

You know those name that cop posts I've done? Well this is where it comes from. For HF's academy graduation party I compiled pictures of famous cops from history or tv shows with the help of a police wife on one of the pw forums. People were able to try their luck at how many they knew. There was a point for each of the following: name of historical person or character, actor's name, name of the show they were on, and other info one might happen to know. I have 50 pictures and am still collecting all the time. I printed them out and stuck them in a three-ring binder. I printed off a title page and slid it in the sleeve on top of the folder. Then I found these babies:
Peel 'N Place bullet holes. I actually found these at a party store in the "throw a mafia themed party" section. While I was sticking them on the folder, HF was sitting nearby and teasing me about how many I was sticking on there. "I want that folder dead!" or "I won't be satisfied until that folder is dead!" or "Bring me that folder's head!" I thought I was pretty clever at placing one of them over the 'o' in Cop. I told HF that the rest of these puppies were going to go on the side of the minivan.
A couple of my pictures are a little fuzzy because I couldn't find one big enough to print out. For example, the one above is the bailiff from Judge Judy. I still stuck it in there to remind myself to check to see if I could find a better picture later on. Just stick an index of the answers in the back, add pieces of paper and a pencil in the front pocket and you've got a game ready to go.
And just because, here's one of my faves o f Miami Vice. This is a fun game for other parties, not just for an academy graduation. If you want the pics I have including the title page and index, email me and I will send you the file. apolicewife[at] gmail [dot] com. If you find any that I don't have, I would probably like to have it! You can email me the pic with the information about the photo as well.

Because I am tired, busy with school starting and making my 1st grader the most adorable bento lunches (see example here) , obsessed with season 2 of Alias, and working in our garden (which today was the equivalent of doing the advanced level of Tae Bo with Billy Blanks), I give you part IV of Name That Cop.

name that cop part II

This is the second part in a series of posts I'll be doing once or twice a week called, Name That Cop. Part I can be found here. The answers to Part I are at the end of this post.

Do you know who these famous cops are? Do you know what their character's name is? The show they were on? How well do you know your stuff.

Answers to Part I:
  1. (photo 1) TV show 21 Jumpstreet: Actors (from L. to R.) Dustin Nguyen (Officer Harry Truman loki), Holly Robinson Peete (Officer Judy Hoffs), Peter DeLuise (Officer Doug Penhall), Johnny Depp-one of my girlhood crushes (Officer Tom Hanson), and Steven Williams (Captain Adam Fuller). This show aired from 1987 to 1991. I loved it and I was only 7 in 1987. Older siblings exposed me to a lot of this stuff.
  2. (photo 2) Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop (1984, 1987, 1994). His character is Axel Foley.
  3. (photo 3) James Butler Hickok AKA Wild Bill Hickok. See here for more info.

name that cop

For HF's graduation I put together a game called "Guess that Cop". It's about 50 pictures of famous fictional or non-fictional cops. I thought I'd share a few photos and see how many of you know your stuff! Without googling, see how much you know. For example:
  • Do you know the name of the show if it is from one?
  • Do you know the names of the person or persons in the picture?
  • If it is an actor, do you know the name of their character?
  • What else do you know?
